How Do I Get Here?
If you aren't local, don't fret! San Francisco is very easy to get to - We recommend booking your flight into San Francisco International Airport (SFO), although Oakland (OAK) is also a decently close option. For those on the west coast but not in the city, train service is another easy way to get into San Francisco via Amtrak, CalTrain, or BART. Because parking in San Francisco is notoriously terrible, we highly recommend you do NOT drive.
Within San Francisco, ride sharing apps like Uber and Lyft are the best way to get around. For public transit fans, Fort Mason is served by the following MUNI lines: 28, 30, 30X, 43, 47 and 49. In addition, Golden Gate Transit stops at the intersection of Lombard and Fillmore Streets. If you insist on driving, there is also paid parking available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fort Mason itself is a large event complex. Once you arrive on the premises, you want to walk all the way to the east end. Follow the signs or ask someone to point you towards the Firehouse. You'll know you made it when you see a building that looks just like an old...firehouse!
Where Should I Stay?
San Francisco has tons of hotel options and each neighborhood has a distinct vibe (you can read more about some of the best neighborhoods to stay in here). Our highlighted hotel below is great because it is both centrally located and nearby the venue.
Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf Hotel
2500 Mason Street
San Francisco, CA 94133
The Sheraton in Fisherman's Wharf is a great 4-star hotel with an outdoor pool, nearby many of San Francisco's major sights and walking distance to the Fort Mason Center. And, for our fellow dog-parents, this is a canine-friendly hotel!
Mention Will & Carly when booking via phone or click here to book online by May 15, 2018 for a discounted group rate of $209.
What's Happening When?
6pm - Doors open, grab a drink and hit the lawn games!
7pm - Dinner's ready, head to the food trucks!
9pm - Did someone say donuts?
11pm - Closing time; you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here...
11:30pm - The party continues! Night owls are invited to join us at The Dorian for the after party :)
What Should I Wear?
Let's keep things casual! Jeans, shorts, sundresses, flip-flops - it all sounds good to us. Seriously, please do not show up in a suit or gown!
The Fort Mason Firehouse is a fun, industrial event space at the northern tip of San Francisco right on the water, and we aren't fancy. San Francisco weather in June should be mild (around 70) but the bay is foggy and it can drop cooler (mid-50s) in the evenings. We'll be occupying the space both inside the firehouse itself and outside along the water so dress in whatever makes you comfortable depending on the forecast.
What Else Can I Do in SF?
San Francisco is a big place and there are tons of great sightseeing resources online (like this one!) - Below are a few of our personal favorite spots to check out if you plan on being in town for a few days:
Smuggler's Cove (bar, near the Civic Center)
A pirate-themed tiki bar with over 550 different rums? Count us in.
Bob's Donuts (bakery, Nob Hill)
Hands down the best donuts in San Francisco, and maybe the world. We highly recommend the apple fritter.
Bourbon & Branch (bar, Tenderloin)
Get a fancy drink at a bar that's been operating since 1867, including as an actual speakeasy during Prohibition!
The Tonga Room (restaurant, Nob Hill)
Ok, so we really like tiki bars. But this one has a giant lagoon and periodic indoor rainstorms. It's like Rainforest Cafe for adults.
Bus Stop (bar, on Union Street)
Need a no-frills place to catch the game while you're in town? Grab a beer and some free pretzels here.
Boudin (bakery, various locations)
THE original San Francisco sourdough bakery, aka the real "San Francisco Treat." Get the one in the shape of a turtle, because it's adorable.
What If I Have Another Question?
Please get in touch with us! We want to make things as easy and fun as possible for you, so don't hesitate to reach out. However, things will probably be a little hectic during the week leading up to the party. If you have a question between June 11 and June 17, unless it's an urgent emergency, we ask that you please send it through the form below. Messages received here will go to a shared inbox so whoever is the least crazy can get back to you!
